The Toyota Land Cruiser’s roof was caved in from flipping on its way down, it snorkels mangled, and the front right wheel snapped right off its mounting.
Most of the windows, including the windscreen were completely shattered and clumps of sand strewed through all parts of the interior.

Miraculously the driver Francois Van Zyl was uninjured and ‘only his car and pride’ hurt, according to the local tourism authority.
Despite the massive damage to the car, an Australian flag was still proudly attached to the front bull bar with blue tape after the Australia Day mishap.
