Police have recovered the body of a man from the Brisbane River following an overnight search.
The search was sparked by a member of the public who spotted the man’s body floating in the water near the Gardens Point CityCat Terminal in the city centre.
Ferry staff were alerted by a passenger who reported seeing a man in the water on Thursday night but police were unable to locate the body until morning.

The body was found near the Eagle Street Pier just before 7am on Friday.
The man is yet to be identified, but is believed to be aged in his 50s, has facial hair and was wearing blue jeans.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
