Horror as a man’s body is found on a beach north of Newcastle as police discover his dead wife inside a nearby home

The body of a man was found on Stockton beach while his dead wife was found inside a nearby home.
A major police operation is underway just north of Newcastle in NSW after police were alerted to an incident inside a home.
A spokesman for NSW Police confirmed emergency services were called to the home of a couple on their 70s at 6am on Friday.
‘Police found the body of a 75-year-old woman in the home,’ the spokesman said.
Emergency services removed the body of a 76-year-old man’s body from the beach a short time later.
The couple’s medical history will be reviewed during police investigations.
Crime scenes have now been established at both locations, but police said initial inquiries suggest no third party was involved.
Newcastle City detectives are investigating the matter.
