Mariah Carey recreates All I Want For Christmas Is You cover shoot as she prepares to re-release track

Mariah Carey has paid tribute to her iconic holiday classic, All I Want For Christmas Is You, 30 years after releasing the catchy tune.

The music sensation and ‘Queen of Christmas’ will be re-releasing the song in honor of it’s 30th anniversary – and has recreated the track’s original photo shoot for the single’s cover.

Carey unveiled two of the covers – one of which closely resembles the original shoot – to her Instagram on Wednesday.

The vinyl cover offers an updated twist on the original shoot, which saw Mariah clad in a Santa Claus inspired jumpsuit as she sits in the snow.

In the new edition, the Glitter actress, 55, sports a similar red jumpsuit as she crouches upon a plush fur couch.

Mariah noted in the caption: ‘While it is definitely not time to listen to Christmas music yet ‼️ I wanted to share a glimpse of #MerryChristmas30 with you!

‘An homage to the original album cover, here is the cover art for two of the four new “All I Want For Christmas Is You” physical singles… available for pre-order now.’

The second cover Mariah included in her carousel captured the Glitter actress joyfully posing in a glam white gown with leg slit beside a snowy tree.

That particular cover is set to be for the cassette.

The remaining two other album covers have yet to be unveiled.

The 30th anniversary music, which is currently available in the gold cassette and seven inch vinyl record, is now available for pre-order.

In August, Mariah announced she will be going on tour during the holiday season.

The songbird will hit 20 cities from early November to mid-December to celebrate that milestone with her fans.

The five-time Grammy winner shared the news and tour dates on Instagram by sharing a photo of herself in a shimmering, glamorous red dress surrounded by Christmas trees.

‘It’s not time yet, but I have exciting news‼️ Mariah Carey’s Christmas Time, my biggest holiday tour to date, is coming to 20 cities starting November 6, 2024!, her post began.

‘Tickets go on sale next Friday, Aug 9!,’ she concluded, adding a Christmas tree and microphone emoji.

The tour starts on November 6 in Highland, California and wraps on December 17th in Brooklyn.

When her album Merry Christmas, which contains her biggest hit, was released in 1994 it was a massive hit, going on to sell 15 million copies.

The song, which reportedly only took 15 minutes to write and compose, generates an estimated $600,000 per year in royalties for Mariah.

With global sales of over 16 million, the song is Carey’s biggest international success, and the best-selling Christmas single by a female artist overall.
