Marilyn Manson parts ways with bassist Twiggy Ramirez

Marilyn Manson has parted ways with his longtime bassist and guitarist Twiggy Ramirez after the musician was this week accused of rape.

Former Jack Off Jill frontwoman Jessicka Addams came out last Friday and accused Ramirez, whose real name is Jeordie White, of raping her when they were dating in the early 1990s.

‘I have decided to part ways with Jeordie White as a member of Marilyn Manson,’ Manson wrote on Twitter Tuesday night. ‘He will be replaced for the upcoming tour. I wish him well.’

In an Instagram post, Manson added that it was ‘a sad day’.

Addams, who is the current singer for the band Scarling, came forward last week with details of what she claimed was a tumultuous relationship with White that began when she was 18.

The singer claimed she was raped one night by White when he returned home from a tour break when Manson was opening for Nine Inch Nails.

‘I knew at that point that Jeordie had not been faithful on tour, including being with women whom I to this day respect and considered my musical contemporaries,’ Addams said.

‘All this led to an argument I never saw coming. He forced me on to the floor with his hand around my neck. I said NO. I said NO. I said it so loud enough, that (his roommate) Pete came rushing in from the other room to get him off of me. But I had been raped. I had been raped by somebody I thought I loved.’

Addams said she lived with the ‘guilt and shame’ in the aftermath of the alleged rape.

She said she was warned in 1997 by her band’s record company that speaking out could harm their reputation.

Addams added that her band was also warned that no record company would ever take a rape victim seriously in the male dominated music business.

‘The label blatantly feared the big machine behind Marilyn Manson would use their power to destroy not only Jack Off Jill, but my name, Jessicka, as well,’ she said.

Addams said that pressure forced her into silence for 20 years.

She first mentioned the alleged rape in an interview with the Alternative Press Magazine back in 2015 while she was playing some reunion shows.

Addams said she was asked what an older Jessicka would tell her 19-year-old self.

‘Don’t allow anybody – especially your current boyfriend – to verbally ridicule you, psychically abuse and rape you, fat-shame you, break your spirit, make you second-guess yourself and ultimately steal your identity. Don’t worry: He’ll get trapped in the green dress he stole. It becomes his curse rather than a gift, trust me,’ she said at the time,’ she said.

White has not yet responded to the allegations leveled against him by Addams.

In a statement on Saturday, Manson said he was ‘saddened’ by Addams’ distress.

‘I knew Jessicka and Jeordie had a romantic relationship many years ago and I considered and still consider Jessicka to be a friend,’ he said.

‘I knew nothing about these allegations until very recently and am saddened by Jessicka’s obvious distress.’

White had left Marilyn Manson in 2002 but later rejoined the band in 2008.
