Marisa Abela sports Amy Winehouse’s famous tattoos during scenes with Jack O’Connell

Marisa Abela and Jack O’Connell have recreated the moment Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil flew to a £10,000-a-week rehabilitation centre in 2007.

Actress Marisa, 26, transformed into the late musician, who died from alcohol poisoning aged 27 in 2011, as she filmed for the much-anticipated biopic Back to Black in east London on Tuesday.

She sported the star’s beehive hairstyle, winged eyeliner and, for the first time, was seen covered in Amy’s famous tattoos as she shot scenes at London Heliport.

She was seen getting out of a black car driven by Eddie Marsan, who plays Amy’s father Mitch, where she was greeted by Jack, who is portraying her ex-husband Blake.

They recreated the day that Amy was flown by helicopter from London Heliport to the £10,000-a-week Causeway Retreat rehab centre on Osea Island, near Essex.

The Causeway Retreat, which was also visited by Take That’s Mark Owen, was shut down in 2010 after an investigation and Twenty 7 Management was fined £8,000 for running an unlicensed hospital.

Filming at the exact heliport where Amy flew from in 2007, Marisa embodied the singer’s iconic look as she sported a black vest top over a pink bra.

She teamed her look with grey tracksuit bottoms and accessorised her look with an array of gold necklaces and large hoop earrings.

The Industry star sported Amy’s signature thick winged eyeliner and wore her raven locks in a messy beehive, resembling the Back To Black hitmaker’s recognisable look.

Blake and Amy’s marriage was plagued by public spats and rehab stints, and Jack embodied Amy’s ex-husband as they recreated the day they both flew to rehab in 2007.

Jack bore a striking resemblance to Blake as he sported a grey polo shirt and jeans and was seen walking alongside his on-screen partner.

The Lady Chatterley’s Lover star also donned Blake’s signature black fedora hat and was seen with what appeared to be red scratch marks across his face.

Jack was seen wearing a dry robe at one point as he kept warm and chatted to Marisa in-between takes.

The two stars were also joined by Eddie, 54, who sported a black jacket as he once again portrayed Amy’s father Mitch.

Amy agreed to enter the rehab centre on Osea Island, Essex, on August 13 after a drink and drug binge saw her rushed to A&E days before.

However, within 48 hours, she returned to Camden, north London, before again returning to the rehabilitation centre just days later on August 16.

At the time, a source told The Sun: ‘It is supposed to be a peaceful backdrop to help people deal with their problems. But Amy and Blake kept rowing and spoiling the ambience.

‘While Amy would be welcomed back with open arms, I’m not sure they’d say the same for Blake.’

Just days later, Amy and Blake were left bloodied after an incident at the Sanderson Hotel in London, which saw the police called.

Her father Mitch said at the time: ‘Obviously I am very concerned, but Amy is with Blake. She’s OK.’

Amy and video production assistant Blake tied the knot in May 2007 and were married for two years before their divorce in August 2009. Their marriage was plagued by public spats and rehab stints.

Marisa is embodied the late singer for the upcoming biopic, which is being directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and has been called Back To Black after Amy’s 2006 album, which included her hit single Rehab.

Marisa and Eddie were previously pictured filming scenes outside Ronnie Scott’s famous jazz club in Soho, where the singer performed early in her career.

Amy said in a 2006 interview with the Camden New Journal that her grandmother once dated musician Ronnie Scott, and explained that ‘after he died we went down there, did a gig’.

She said: ‘I was singing a tune – and I don’t care if people are talking, in fact I like it if people are talking ’cause it gives me a chance to go into one with the band, and my dad was in the audience.

‘He turned around to whoever was in the audience and said: ‘Will you shut the f*** up’ and this man goes ‘sorry’ and it was Mick Jagger. And my Dad’s like: ‘It was only Mick Jagger!”

Elsewhere, Marisa recently penned a heartfelt tribute to Amy when a first look of herself in-character as the musician was revealed.

She wrote on Instagram: ‘And for London. This is for London. Cause Camden Town ain’t burnin down’. I love you, Amy.’

Marisa is known for her role in BBC and HBO drama Industry and will appear in the Barbie movie, set for release in July 2023.

Eddie, who is playing Mitch, is best known for his role in Happy-Go-Lucky and more recently for 2022 drama The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe.

Back To Black is expected to follow Winehouse’s life as a talented jazz singer in North London to her rise as a global superstar with her second album, 2006’s Back to Black.

She became one of just five women at the time to win five Grammys in one night, including Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

The singer had struggles with alcohol and drug abuse throughout her career, passing away in 2011 at just 27 years of age from alcohol poisoning.

A24’s 2015 documentary Amy won the Oscar for Best Documentary, though this will be the first biopic to tackle her life, though other versions were in the works.

It was announced in 2015 that Noomi Rapace has signed on to star in a Winehouse biopic from Lotus Entertainment.

Kristen Sheridan, the daughter of In America director Jim Sheridan, was set to both direct and write the screenplay, though it never moved forward.

It was then confirmed in October 2018 that Amy’s family had signed a deal with Monumental Pictures for a biopic.

Kinky Boots writer Geoff Deane was brought on to write the script, with Alison Owen and Debra Hayward producing.

Four years later, the project has moved to StudioCanal with Taylor-Johnson, though both Alison and Debra are remaining as producers, along with Tracey Seaward.

The project is being made with the ‘full support’ of Winehouse’s estate.

Taylor-Johnson started her career as a music video director including Elton John’s I want Love and The Weeknd’s Earned It.

She made her feature film debut with 2015’s Fifty Shades of Grey, and went on to direct A Million Little Pieces and two episodes of Amazon’s Solos.
