Just days after it was revealed her Spider-Man co-stars Tom Holland and Zendaya have gotten engaged, Marisa Tomei sent along a congratulatory message.
Tomei, 60, played Aunt May, the sole caretaker of young Peter Parker (Holland) in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home and 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Holland and Zendaya met on the set of those films, portraying his classmate MJ, who he ultimately forms a romance with in the films.
That on-screen romance was mirrored in real life, with Holland publicly confirming their relationship in November 2021, though it is believed they were dating for quite some time before the public acknowledgment.
After Zendaya was spotted wearing a massive engagement ring, it was revealed that they got engaged over the holidays.

She shared a red carpet snap of them both smiling at the premiere of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which she captioned at the bottom, ‘Congrats you two, xoxo,’ with blowing kiss emoji.
As for the proposal, Holland reportedly popped the question sometime between Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
The proposal happened, ‘in a very intimate setting in one of Zendaya’s family homes in the United States, according to TMZ.
While he was at one of her family’s homes, they were both by themselves with a source calling the engagement, ‘romantic and not over the top.’
Holland reportedly received the blessing of Zendaya’s father Kazembe Ajamu Coleman months before popping the question, TMZ reported.
The outlet reports that Holland was particularly keen on obtaining approval as the Onward actor is quite traditional and put a lot of weight into receiving Kazembe’s blessing prior to the big moment.
Holland reportedly met with Kazembe ‘months ago’ and of course his future father-in-law gave his blessing.
Zendaya’s family is said to be incredibly excited with the couple’s upcoming marriage and think highly of the actor, with insiders saying they love the star and see him as a ‘class act.’

The happy couple both recently signed on to star in director Christopher Nolan’s new film, an adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey.
