Marisa Tomei ‘taunted by angry fans who were denied selfies’ outside Broadway afterparty – leading security to ‘brandish Tasers’ and call police

Marisa Tomei reportedly escaped a frightening run-in with some fans in New York on Monday night.

The Oscar winner, 58, caught the opening night of the Off-Broadway play Danny and the Deep Blue Sea and was leaving the star-studded afterparty at the Chelsea Hotel when fans approached her for selfies, per Page Six.

‘Extra security was called to try to manage the swarm of fans who congregated outside the show’s after party,’ a source told the outlet.

After the actress reportedly denied photos, the fans became ‘angry’ and ‘taunted’ her as she continued walking down the street, according to the insider.

‘Tensions came to a boiling point when Marisa Tomei exited the party at around midnight and tried to avoid the throng by beelining for her nearby car,’ said the source.

Among the stars the ‘unruly fans’ came out to see were Dakota Johnson, Marc Jacobs, Mark Ruffalo, Patti LuPone, Natasha Lyonne, Michael Cera, Zawe Ashton, Ben Stiller, and Sam Rockwell.

The outing comes after it was reported that Bradley Cooper and Gigi Hadid caught a preview of the revival at the Lucille Lortel Theater.

The pair –who have been heating up their romance — took in the theatre piece after they spent an evening together following Gigi’s epic girls’ night out with Taylor Swift.

Danny and the Deep Blue Sea stars Parks & Rec’s Aubrey Plaza and Girls’ Christopher Abbott.

The play is a revival of John Patrick Shanley’s 1983 work and includes ‘solid performances’ by Plaza and Abbott, per Variety.
