Shark Tank star Mark Cuban has admitted he made a ‘mistake’ last week when he said Donald Trump is never seen ‘around strong, intelligent women’.
During an appearance on The View, the 66-year-old billionaire spoke about the US Presidential election and sparked a furious backlash from the former president’s inner circle as well as Trump’s supporters following his comments.
Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, Mark – who recently revealed what he buys when he shops at Target – has shared his thoughts on the reaction and said: ‘It’s part of politics, it was my mistake, and I apologized for it. I certainly wasn’t saying anything negative about anyone supporting Trump.’
When asked what his wife off 22 years made of his comments, Mark added: ‘Tiffany watched the entire interview and had no issue with it. She knew what I was trying to say.
‘She also knows that when I do hundreds of interviews, there will be some I mess up on. I flubbed many more Mavs interviews that got me fined by the NBA. So she is kind of used to it,’ he added, referring to when he owned the Dallas Mavericks.

One person in particular who publicly slammed Mark was Trump’s senior adviser Alina Habba, who took to social media and fumed that his ‘nasty comments’ were ‘a disgrace.’
Asked what he thought about Alina’s reaction, Mark said: ‘I didn’t have a feeling one way or another. She is obviously smart and passionate about her candidate, as she should be.’
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, on November 1, Mark responded to the huge backlash and posted: ‘When I said this during the interview, I didn’t get it out exactly the way I thought I did.
‘So I apologize to anyone who felt slighted or upset by my response. As I said, it wasn’t about Trump voters, supporters or employees. Current or former and, I set myself up for the 6 sec soundbite. No excuses. Can’t nail every interview.
‘My skin is thick enough. What bothers me though is that so many of the comments or media, in support of, or against me, has some level of insult attached to it. Not just here. But everywhere.
‘I’m not blaming anyone. We are where we are. Here is hoping that changes at least a little bit in a week. In the spirit of joy… I have to add that all the AI memes of me with the long hair crack me up. So there is a positive!’ he added.
During his short stint on The View, Mark told the panel, which included Whoopi Goldberg: ‘Donald Trump – you never see him around strong, intelligent women, ever. It’s just that simple.’
‘It’s just that simple. They’re intimidating to him. He doesn’t like to be challenged by them,’ Mark added.

Host Joy Behar disagreed with him and said even Stormy Daniels ‘was smart’, and others were quick to hit out at the Shark Tank co-host.
Trump’s campaign immediately seized on the remarks as evidence to back its claim that Democrats, including Kamala Harris, despise voters who support the former president.
Trump’s national press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the comments were ‘extremely insulting to the thousands of women who work for President Trump, and the tens of millions of women who are proudly voting for him.’
‘Joe Biden called Trump supporters garbage, and now, Kamala’s top surrogate Mark Cuban insinuated female Trump supporters are ‘weak and dumb,’ she said.
