Mark Wahlberg reveals how happy his family is two years after they left Los Angeles for Las Vegas: ‘It’s a place where my kids can thrive’

Mark Wahlberg doesn’t regret moving his family from Los Angeles to Las Vegas in 2022.

‘It’s a place where my kids can thrive and do their thing and pursue their interests,’ the actor, 52, says of the family’s new home base, via People.

The Invincible star – who is an investor in a Catholic prayer app – and his wife Rhea Durham shared four kids: daughters Ella, 20, and Grace, 14, and sons Michael, 17, and Brendan, 15.

‘So to be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams — whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer — this made a lot more sense for us,’ he continued.

His oldest daughter, Ella, is a student at Clemson University in South Carolina and his youngest three kids go to school at Bishop Gorman High School, a college prep school with a long history of success in academics and athletics.

The Cape Fear actor also gave Mark and his wife a change to shake things up for a fresh start.

He said the move to Nevada was an opportunity to ‘give ourselves a new look, a fresh start for the kids,’ adding, ‘I’m really excited about the future.’

‘Everybody’s adapted nicely. The kids are all out at school, and everybody’s happy,’ he shared.

In an interview last week on the Today Show, saying: ‘Every free moment that I have, I’m at home. I want to be able to work from home.’

He said he used to say he had to be in L.A. for his career but his wife called him on that and pointed out that he’d only made a few films that actually shot in L.A.

He continued: ‘I moved to California many years ago to pursue acting and I’ve only made a couple of movies in the entire time that I was there.’

‘I spent lots of time in L.A. pursuing my interests and my career and now it’s time for them to pursue theirs,’ he said.

‘Everybody is thriving there, it’s been great.’

Bishop Gorman High School where his kids go to school is a Roman Catholic College Prepatory school that was founded in 1954.

Notably, Nevada has no individual income tax. But Wahlberg insists he also wants his children to have a ‘better life’ and that he hopes the state’s tax-breaks will allow him to eventually create his own movie studio, a ‘Hollywood 2.0’.

He has also indicated that he has little time for the woke culture that now grips California.

Wahlberg and his family left behind a $90 million, 30,000 square-foot Beverly Hills mega-mansion – boasting a pool, cinema, golf course and, of course, its own chapel.
