Marko Grujic’s move to Werder Bremen is OFF as Liverpool fail to reach agreement with Bundesliga side over £14m permanent deal

Liverpool’s Marko Grujic is now set to remain at Anfield having been expected to leave on loan.

Serbian Grujic had been linked with a move with West Ham and Southampton, before the latter wrapped up a deal for Ibrahima Diallo.

The 24 year-old, who has spent the previous two seasons on loan at Hertha Berlin, was then lined up for a return to Germany with Werder Bremen.

But he has seen that move fall through and is now expected to stay at Liverpool.

Grujic has featured twice for Jurgen Klopp’s side so far this season, starting both of their Carabao Cup ties against Lincoln and Arsenal.

The Serbia international has made just 16 appearances for the Anfield club since arriving from Red Star Belgrade in 2016, and has had loan spells at his former club and Cardiff too.
