Shoppers rush to buy ‘incredible dupe’ of $6,000 designer bag: ‘I can’t cope!’
- Marks and Spencer has released a stylish crossbody bag for $75.99
- Thousands say it’s a ‘dupe’ of the $5900 Celine classic box bag
- M&S bag is now available on the Australian website after selling out in the UK
Customers are racing to get their hands on a stylish new bag that’s said to be a ‘dupe’ of a designer version.
The Faux Leather Cross Body Bag from Marks and Spencer sold out across stores in the UK after being compared closely to the Celine classic box bag – and the budget bag has just landed on the Australian website.
The M&S product costs $75.99 while the Celine bag costs $5900, but the two look near identical.
Sydney blogger Virginia Jenkins was one of hundreds who endorsed the M&S bag by calling it ‘amazing’ and pointed out the similarities.

Several videos have surfaced on TikTok of women styling the M&S bag with different outfits.
The bag itself is available in three different colours – camel, khaki and white – and features an accordion-style design with two spacious compartments and zipped inside pocket for small belongings.
The front gold buckle, crossbody design and faux leather material look all too similar to the luxury Celine version.
The budget option is ideal for fashionistas wanting to achieve an elegant, modern style without breaking the bank.

Stylist Katie Peake, from the UK, also shared a video styling the ‘it’ bag with a striped jumper, black pants and matching loafers.
‘Getting my hands on this bag has been the biggest flex of the season,’ one person commented.
‘So chic,’ another said, a third added: ‘I need this!’
It’s believed the product was first spotted on store shelves in September last year by UK radio presenter Melissa Riddell, who said it was an ‘incredible dupe’.
‘I was looking for bedding but obviously got distracted. Does this not look just like the Celine classic box bag?’ she said in a video, adding: ‘I can’t cope!’
But despite the similar design, some customers weren’t convinced.
‘It looks like it would scratch easily,’ one wrote, another added: ‘I’m not keen on it.’
Another said it looks ‘too small’ to hold all their personal valuables.
