Married At First Sight bride pulls out of wedding with groom who has STD

Married At First Sight bride pulls out of wedding after groom reveals he has incurable STD – as she claims that producers still urged her to marry him anyway: ‘I had to pull the pin’

Melissa Sheppard failed to find love on season 10 of Married At First Sight Australia, but it wasn’t her first time striking out on the matchmaking show.

The reality television star, 41, was set to star in a previous season of the Channel Nine series, reported Yahoo Lifestyle on Thursday.

But she pulled out just ten days before walking down the aisle when producers told her the groom she was matched with had an incurable STD (sexually transmitted disease).

‘We were so far at the end that [producers] were like, “You need to go through with this, you need to just sign this form just in case you contract anything,”‘ she said.

‘They said, “You don’t have to sleep with him,” and I said, “No, I know that, but what happens if I did?”‘

Melissa revealed all contestants go through a series of medical health tests before appearing on MAFS, including tests for sexually transmitted diseases.

Unfortunately, her groom came back with a devastating positive result for an incurable STD which producers were obliged to tell Melissa about.

The hairdresser made the difficult decision to pull out of the series at the last second, unwilling to risk her own health, which she claimed ‘p***ed off’ producers.

‘I just needed to make a health decision if that was something that I’d be comfortable with going forward, and unfortunately, I just had to pull the pin,’ she said.

She went on to say she ‘wasn’t comfortable’ with getting to know a potential romantic match who could pass on a life-changing disease to her.

Melissa went on to star in season 10 of MAFS where she walked down the aisle to ‘shy guy’ Josh White who was intimidated by her sexual prowess. They didn’t last.

The blonde bombshell was depicted as the ‘horny bride’ of the year, which she blamed on producers looking for revenge over her pulling out last minute.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Channel Nine for comment.
