There was no competition in the TV ratings on Wednesday, with Channel Nine’s Married At First Sight the undisputed leader of the pack once again.

The controversial reality show drew 954,000 metro viewers – a figure that could well double when regional and BVOD catch-up numbers are added to the mix.

The episode saw tensions erupt as all the brides and grooms – including those who left the experiment early – reunited for the boys’ and girls’ nights.

MAFS drew more than twice the audience of Channel Seven’s Shane Warne tribute special, simply titled Warnie, which had 445,000 viewers in the five capital cities.

Seven soap Home and Away actually performed better with 474,000 metro viewers.

A Current Affair also did good business for Nine with 699,000 – a number that no doubt got a slight lift thanks to MAFS fans tuning in for the closing minutes.

The MAFS brides locked horns at the girls’ night, with several turning against cheater Carolina Santos, who sauntered into the restaurant after being kicked off earlier in the season for her affair with Daniel Holmes.

Things also became heated at the boys’ night, with Daniel coming close to a fight with drunken co-star Mitch Eynaud, who made disrespectful remarks about Carolina.

Mitch, 27, told Daniel, 31, his relationship with the mother of one was infatuation, not love, saying a few too many beers: ‘You’re in love with that p***y, ay bruh?

‘You’re in love with that p***y. That’s what I reckon, man. It’s a short-term fling, just have a bit of fun and she’ll move on. That’s what I reckon, chief.’

Daniel warned him not to say ‘disrespectful s**t’ about his girlfriend, but Mitch continued to troll him by tapping his shoulder and saying: ‘You’re not wiggin’, are ya bruh? You’re not wiggin’ are ya?’

Daniel, an amateur bodybuilder, chose to walk away from the situation before it escalated, but had some tough parting words for Mitch.

‘You’re such a d**khead. If you say that s**t in the real world, you’ll get yourself knocked the f**k out. You don’t say that s**t about someone’s girl,’ he said.

Married At First Sight continues Sunday at 7pm on Channel Nine and 9Now
