Married At First Sight fans have praised groom Timothy Smith after he refused to participate in a ‘toxic’ photo ranking challenge during Tuesday’s episode.
The 51-year-old business owner was tasked with ‘ranking’ the current brides in order of physical attractiveness to give his wife Lucinda Light, 43, an idea of what he liked in a woman.
However, Tim put his foot down and told Lucinda the challenge made him feel uncomfortable and he refused to participate in it.
‘It’s bulls**t, I think it’s an unfair, unrealistic task. I don’t want to do it,’ he told her, highlighting that he felt uneasy because many of his co-stars were significantly younger than him.
‘It’s not age appropriate. I’m already 10 years older than Lucinda, but these are 20 to 30 year old’s, I’d look like the biggest creep walking,’ he said.

He then told his partner he would always put her first so the other ratings didn’t matter.
Viewers quickly took to social media to praise Tim for refusing to take part in the challenge.

Timothy is a real estate tycoon and gin distillery owner hailing from Melbourne.
He is partnered with Lucinda, a master of ceremonies and marriage celebrant who hails from Byron Bay.
The pair have been hitting it off after they had a truly emotional wedding ceremony in which he confessed all his family had passed away, shocking her with his raw honesty and vulnerability.
