Married At First Sight: Selin and Anthony living separate lives during filming

They may have had a promising start to their relationship, but it didn’t take long for things to fall apart for Married At First Sight’s Selin Mengu and Anthony Cincotta.

Photos taken during filming in Sydney’s CBD on October 10 show the couple living separate lives as they went about their daily routines.

Tellingly they were not seen together at all, even though other couples in the experiment were pictured running errands and going on dates.

Why so tense? Despite looking loved up while attending the intruder weddings, things looked over for good between Anthony Cincotta (pictured) and his bride Selin Mengu during the filming of Married At First Sight

The two of them both looked downcast as they emerged separately from the MAFS apartment complex to grab coffee.

A solemn-looking Selin, 32, walked the streets of Sydney alone, while Anthony, 38, was seen at one stage wiping tears from his eyes.

A source told Daily Mail Australia the pair ‘pretty much lived separate lives’ when the cameras weren’t rolling.

‘They had a great start but Selin just had enough. Anthony went back to his old ways and Selin was over it and didn’t want to fake it,’ said the insider.

It comes after executive assistant Selin defied producers and confirmed her split from salesman Anthony during a radio interview.

The mother of one broke down in tears after calling into The Kyle and Jackie O Show immediately after the hosts had interviewed Anthony.

She claimed producers and Anthony had pressured her into sleeping in the same on their wedding night even after she’d said no.

‘Some people understand, some people see the grey areas, but it’s just not fair that I’m dealing with this backlash when I’ve said “no” to a few things and he persisted,’ she said.

‘I’ve gone into protective mode and it’s really hard. I’m actually going to lose it if I don’t say these things.

‘I didn’t want to. I’m not that type of person and It’s okay for people to be like that. But I didn’t feel comfortable and he [Anthony] persisted, they [producers] persisted.’

Selin alleged that despite telling both the producers and Anthony she wasn’t comfortable sharing a bed on the first night, she was pressured into it for filming.

When asked what Anthony’s response was to her rejecting their offer, Selin said he replied ‘we need to do it’ and that it ‘wasn’t a big deal’.

Selin went on to claim she reluctantly agreed to sleep next to Anthony after they built a pillow fort, but said she would have preferred the couch option.
