Married At First Sight sexologist Alessandra Rampolla shares major change to intimacy week she wants to see next season

Alessandra Rampolla has revealed that she’d like to see a change to Married At First Sight in the future.

The show’s resident sexologist revealed that the famous Intimacy Week may look a little different next year.

During the week, couples on the show explore physical and emotional intimacy as they connect in their marriages.

But Alessandra says that one very important topic of conversation that she hopes will be raised in future during the sessions – money.

Fights over finances are a common reason couples clash and Alessandra says she’d like to include it as a topic during Intimacy Week.

‘We talk about intimacy in the experiment a lot and I always talk about how intimacy week especially is not only about sexuality, it’s about building trust,’ she tells Yahoo this week.

‘This is an area that can really help to build trust. Can you feel safe enough around someone to disclose these things that you hold really close and dear?

‘If you’re able to do that, it shows you that you’re starting to feel that you have that real connection with your partner.’

Alessandra says that there have been instances where couples on the show argued over bills and money.

‘It’s as simple as having the chat beforehand and understanding what those expectations are’ she explained.

‘You need to figure that out early on. So yes, I’m sure it’s something that could be a part of the experiment, absolutely.’

Last year, sex toy sales exploded after they were featured during Intimacy Week on Married At First Sight.

The couples were given a ‘goodie bag’ of toys and instructed to use them by sexologist Alessandra.

Adam Lea, the marketing manager for adult retailer Wild Secrets, which supplied the items, told Daily Mail Australia sales were booming.
