Married At First Sight star Richard Sauerman reveals what he wishes he had done differently on the show

Married At First Sight groom Richard Sauerman opened up on Saturday about one rule he wishes he had broken during his stint on the show.

Richard, 62, revealed that cast members were forbidden from taking photos on their personal device and were instead given production phones to take snaps.

‘The producers gave us a production phone and said, “Use this phone to take photographs and videos of your relationship. You can’t do it on your own phone”. So I did that,’ he told Yahoo.

However, Richard discovered much later that many other cast members were not adhering to the rule, while he was, which meant they had lots of spontaneous shots that could be used as mementos while he only had promotional ones.

‘Afterwards, I see all these posts going up with all the other couples about intimate moments and things clearly taken on another phone.’

‘So everyone else had all these social media posts of them living their lives and stuff behind the scenes which Channel Nine are now happily posting and we were told not to do that.’

He then said if he had known that he could simply take photos on his own device like other cast members then he would have done so in order to preserve precious memories.

‘I stuck by the rules and it just annoyed me. I would’ve done that differently and used my own phone, gone mad and taken lots of photos.’

Richard was paired with Andrea Thompson, 51, on the Channel Nine dating experiment, but the couple decided to go their separate ways.

Looking back at his journey on the program, Richard admitted there was one comment he wished he had never made.

He memorably shocked his co-stars with a racy remark about his sex life with Andrea during intimacy week.

'The producers gave us a production phone and said, "Use this phone to take photographs and videos of your relationship. You can't do it on your own phone". So I did that,' he told Yahoo

He said: ‘We did intimacy week the week before intimacy week. We gazed, we hugged, we f***ed, we s***ed, we did everything, we did the whole lot.’

‘I wouldn’t have said that “we kissed, we licked…” comment at the commitment ceremony during intimacy week,’ Richard told Woman’s Day of his regret.

His comments come after Andrea lifted the lid on her marriage to Richard behind closed doors after sensationally quitting the experiment in March.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Australia, she said she decided to end things with Richard because the couple’s constant fighting started to make her ‘feel crazy’.
