Selin Mengu’s birthday celebrations go very wrong as her luxury Stretch Hummer catches FIRE leaving the Married At First Sight star scrambling from the burning car on a highway

Selin Mengu’s birthday celebrations went awry on Saturday, after the Married At First Sight star was left scrambling to safety from a burning car.

In a series of videos shared by her friend, comedian Christine Abadir, Selin and her posse piled into a luxury $220,000 Stretch Hummer on their way to a strip club.

Things went wrong shortly after, with videos showing Selin, 32, and her friends standing on the side of a highway with a vehicle ablaze in the background.

Oh dear: Selin Mengu’s (pictured) birthday celebrations went awry on Saturday, after the Married At First Sight star was left scrambling to safety from a burning car

‘We were partying and listening to Tupac, and then it started foaming and doing smoke,’ Christine said in one video.

‘And we we like, okay it’s the part lights, it’s okay. Turns out it’s not the party lights or the party smoke, it was an actual fire.’

Fire and ambulance were called to the scene, and a paramedic asked the women in one clip, ‘Has anyone got any smoke inhalation at all?’

‘We were all in the car,’ Selin replied, and confirmed that the women had breathed in some of the smoke.

In further clips, Selin’s friends made light of the situation by twerking in front of the fire, before being told to get back by emergency personnel.

‘If you ever feel ugly and depressed just remember that our Hummer is on fire in the middle of a highway’ Christine said in one video while the car burned behind her.

It comes after Selin’s time with ‘husband’ Anthony Cincotta came to an abrupt end after they both decided to write ‘leave’ during a commitment ceremony which aired on Married At First Sight earlier this month.

‘The time was up for Anthony and I in the experiment, we both decided it was the best thing we could do to end it and are civil,’ she said of the experience.

Selin explained that the highlight of the experiment was being selected to put herself out there and learn that it isn’t selfish to find love.
