Married At First Sight UK fans discover Luke has appeared on TV before as viewers claim they recognise him from another Channel 4 dating show

Married At First Sight UK fans have spotted that contestant Luke has already appeared on TV after watching the first episode of the series on Monday.

Viewers rushed to Twitter to reveal that the sales executive appeared on Davina McCall’s The Language Of Love series two-years-ago.

The series saw Luke move to Spain with both British and Spanish singletons to find ‘the one’, with the show presenting a huge twist in that contestants won’t be able to speak the same language as each other.

And now Luke is trying once again to find his person who is after the same end goal as him, a happy family.

‘Language Of Love it was on Channel 4 I think last year’

‘Luke was on that Language Of Love dating show last year if anyone else thought he looked familiar’

It comes after Married At First Sight’s love experts Mel Schilling and Paul C Brunson defended casting a transgender bride in the new series.

Channel 4 became embroiled in a fakery row after pretending that a man appearing on the reality show was unaware he had been paired up with a transgender woman.

On Monday evening, viewers will see Ella Morgan, who was born male and transitioned into a woman when she was 18, wed the contestant before some hours later telling him that she is trans.

Addressing claims on Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp, the dating professionals said ‘this is not a gotcha moment’ and explained that they did have the groom’s consent beforehand.

They added that Ella was an ‘incredible role model’ and ‘having visibility of a trans woman’ was important on the show.

Mel explained: ‘I think the most important thing to talk about with Ella, firstly, we love her so much, and what an incredible role model.

‘She would hate to think that I was saying that because she doesn’t see herself as a role model, but just having visibility of a trans woman to normalise that is so important, so incredibly important.

‘The number one thing that was important for us was looking after her from a mental health perspective, the duty of care to her is number one, and then it’s about consent.

‘We’re not in the business of surprising anyone, this is not a gotcha moment, this is a proper relationship between a man and a woman.

‘So, we did get consent, we got her consent, and we got his consent, he knew that he was marrying a trans woman.

Paul added: ‘I think it’ll be apparent once you watch the show, right?

‘Everyone’s talking about things that they haven’t even seen yet, but once you watch it, you will understand how much care that we’ve put into not just Ella’s match, but in everyone’s match on the show.’

In scenes set to air this week, fans will watch as the groom is left in shock when he learns he has just wed Ella.

And in a bid to keep the drama going, she doesn’t tell her new husband for some time after the wedding ceremony.

However, the broadcaster has now admitted that they did tell the groom before filming the dramatic scenes, meaning that the organisation has duped their viewers.

It is understood that the man is ‘furious’ with how Channel 4 treated him during his time on the programme and afterwards.
