Married At First Sight’s Al Perkins does a SHOEY on the red carpet at the 2022 Logie Awards

Not again! Married At First Sight’s Al Perkins does a SHOEY on the red carpet at the 2022 Logie Awards

He’s the self-proclaimed ‘kid from Bondi that everyone loves’ who has mastered the art of doing a shoey.

And on Sunday night, Married at First Sight star Al Perkins didn’t disappoint crowds when he was challenged to chug down booze out of his shoe at the Logie Awards.

The 25-year-old chippy was only too happy to accept the challenge, sending crowds of fans into a frenzy.

Al didn’t blink an eye as he took off his own shoe before he chugged down some booze while his co-stars watched on in hysterics.

Only seven out of the 22 cast members from this year’s season of Married At First Sight were invited to the awards.

Joining Al, Domenica Calarco, Ella Ding, Brent Vitiello, Jack Millar, Selina Chhaur and Dion Giannarelli were all invited to the prestigious TV event.

It comes after MAFS star Olivia Frazer hit back at Channel Nine after they snubbed her from this year’s Logie Awards.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia earlier this month, Olivia, 27, said while she is disappointed she wasn’t invited to attend the ceremony, she wasn’t surprised.

‘Honestly, I’d rather endure several forms of medieval torture then go anywhere to support Married At First Sight,’ she said.

‘I don’t want to see that disgusting show [MAFS] be rewarded for their toxic environment and disgusting behaviour.

‘The idea that that toxic dumpster fire of a show is up for an award is beyond me. So no, I’m not going and I don’t want to go, I want nothing to do it.’

Olivia also rubbished recent reports that she had been begging her agent to get her an invite for the prestigious event.

‘I’m not surprised that me and [Jackson Lonie] weren’t invited,’ she said, adding that Nine only invited a certain number of ‘characters they pushed throughout the season’.

Despite living on the Gold Coast, Tamara Djordjevic, Samantha Moitzi and Mitch Eynaud have all been snubbed.

Cheating couple Daniel Holmes and Carolina Santos, one of the only couples to remain together from this year’s season, were also forgotten about.

Married At First Sight is nominated for Most Popular Reality Program.
