Married At First Sight expert Alessandra Rampolla is in mourning the death of her father José Antonio Rampolla Navarro.

The relationship expert, who has been a fixture on the hit Channel Nine reality show since 2021, announced the heartbreaking news on Instagram on Monday.

José Antonio passed away in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on May 19, 2025, at the age of 90 and surrounded by his loved ones.

In a heartfelt tribute, Alessandra, 49, described her father as a ‘beloved husband, father and grandfather’.

He is survived by his wife Ginette, and their children Carla, Ricardo, Alessandra, José and Cary, as well as grandchildren Valeria, Daniela, Camila, Luke, José and Isabella.

The family has asked for prayers in honour of José Antonio’s soul and expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support.

A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, June 11, at 6:30pm at the San Ignacio de Loyola Parish in San Juan.

‘You will always be in our hearts – rest in peace,’ the family said in a statement.

Alessandra has yet to make a formal statement outside of her post.

The Latin beauty will return to Australia in the coming weeks, with production expected to kick off on the thirteenth season of the hit Channel Nine series shortly.

Daily Mail Australia previously revealed that Alessandra was thrilled at the opportunity to be invited back a series regular since joining the show in 2021. 

‘Alessandra had no idea what she originally signed up for, but she was well-taken care of and loved how well-respected she was by fans and crew,’ a source said.

‘She was really surprised with how the show was edited so decided to binge-watch past seasons, they added.

Alessandra is already a big star in her native Puerto Rico, where she hosts her own TV show titled Dare with Alessandra, and boasts 859,000 Instagram followers.
