Married At First Sight’s Gabrielle Bartlett: ‘horrendous’ symptoms after testing positive for Covid

Gabrielle Bartlett has revealed her ‘horrendous’ Covid-19 symptoms, after she tested positive earlier this week. 

On Sunday, the former Married At First Sight bride told her fans she had been ‘really unwell’ for five days after her diagnosis. 

The marriage celebrant, 47, wrote in a series of Instagram Stories that she lost her sense of taste and smell. 

‘Each night I went to bed with a fresh spray of perfume on my wrist and would periodically smell it throughout the night to see. It went from dull to cone to dull then back,’ she wrote. 

‘I woke up with a horrendous headache, sore throat, fever and vomiting. It then morphed into heart pains,’ Gabrielle continued. 

‘Actual pains in my heart but also nausea, fatigue and around we went again with one symptom switching off and another switching on. One word: Eww.’

‘I was so sick and unwell I went straight for the PCR test. My symptoms didn’t creep up on me or have me wondering. They banged me over the head so my result was unsurprising,’ she wrote

Gabrielle said because she is doubled vaccinated, she didn’t worry about getting too sick, and the worst part for her was missing out on Christmas celebrations with her daughter.    

‘I had comfort knowing the chance of symptoms escalating to needing a hospital were super low. It was just a bummer that it was over Christmas period which effected my  daughter and whole family by railroading all our extended family plans plus food in the fridge,’ she wrote.     

 The reality star shared her news on Thursday with a sarcastic Instagram Story post that read: ‘Thanks for the Covid positive Christmas pressie, universe. So festive… so special’
