Mary Steenuburgen reveals hilarious detail about her sex life with Ted Danson

Mary Steenburgen is offering some hilarious insight into her life in the bedroom with longtime husband Ted Danson.

The 71-year-old actress and her 77-year-old husband will celebrate their 30th anniversary this October.

They both hit the red carpet at the Golden Gala on Friday, where Steenburgen revealed new details about how they first met.

‘I admired him so much as an actor, but I didn’t personally know him. And I had this stupid idea that he was, like, maybe kind of a slick guy,’ Steenburgen said.

‘How wrong I was. Slick guys don’t say, ‘gosh-a-rooni,’ after making love. I’d like to apologize to my granddaughters,’ Steenburgen joked.

Steenburgen has three granddaughters – Clementine, Goldie, and Vera – children of her daughter Lilly, who she shares with first husband Malcolm McDowell.

She realized there was much more to Danson than she expected, including him, ‘fighting to keep the oceans of the world safe and thriving’ along with his ‘kindness’ on film and TV sets.

‘And there is a reason that Ted is treasured by everyone who works with him … Ted sets the tone,’ the loving wife added.

‘He’s just so loving and takes such joy in acting that all of us who are hard at work away from our families for long hours get to work on a set that is dictated by his kindness,’ she added.

‘And as his wife watching the respect and love that crews have for Ted has always made me very proud of him,’ she said.

Steenburgen shares Lilly and son Charlie McDowell with her ex, while Danson shares daughters Kate and Alexis with his second wife Cassandra Coates.

The actress added that she, ‘fell in love with the sort of father that he is and with his beloved daughters.’

‘Ted loves them with all his heart and yet had space in there to love my Lilly and Charlie so perfectly as well. It’s pretty thrilling to go through life with Ted Danson,’ she gushed.

Danson also shared that one of the secrets to their long-running marriage is the alone time they share at 4:30 in the morning.

‘To both of us, it’s like heaven on Earth. Even if she’s working in a different time zone, we will wake up in time to be able to play our games and have coffee over the phone,’ he added.

Danson also made headlines in October for apologizing to his Cheers co-star for a spat that drove them apart.

‘But I feel like, f**k, I don’t know. I missed out on the last 30 years of Kelsey Grammer, and I feel like it’s my bad, my doing,’ Danson added.

‘I almost feel like apologizing to you… no I don’t feel like, I apologize to you and me that I sat back, you know, and didn’t. I really do apologize,’ he said.

Grammer thanked him for that and said, ‘I truly wish we’d spent some more time together,’ before sharing an anecdote Danson told him that has always, ‘quoted to other people.’
