A father has released shocking footage of a machete-wielding thug and his accomplice trying to break into his daughter’s home.

The clip, filmed outside the front door, shows the men attempting to pry open the entrances to the property at 3.48am in Eastwood, Essex, on Saturday.

One, wearing a navy blue tracksuit and grey trainers, tried to break into the house by forcing open a window.

After he was successful, he ran out of the driveway – before returning with his accomplice and a large knife.

He and his associate, who was also in a tracksuit and wearing black trainers, put gloves on while walking up the driveway.

The pair then begin to look inside the home using a torch.

While the man with the black trainers opened the front downstairs window the other stood in front of the door wielding the large knife.

But after looking inside the property the pair shut the window and walked away.

Following the attempted break-in, the woman who usually lives there filed an online report to the police.

Her father, Ahmet, said: ‘The house is currently empty as it is being refurbished. When the suspect looks through the window, I assume they can see it’s being refurbished hence walking away.

‘My daughter has filed an online report.’

MailOnline has contacted Essex Police for further comment.
