Mass brawl involving a gun erupts in Birmingham nightclub

This is the horrifying moment chaos erupted at a popular nightclub – shortly before a man was slashed in the face.

Dramatic footage reveals how a mass brawl – which saw a man pull out a gun – broke out inside Prisma nightclub in Birmingham in the early hours of Sunday morning.

In the 30-second clip, a roar of shouting and screaming can be heard as several men viciously brawl in the centre of the Bristol Street club’s dancefloor.

A woman yelled as one man appeared to pull out a gun from his pocket.

As the fight escalated and moved closer to the bar, a female clubber can be seen pulling her friend closer shortly before they hid for safety.

The brawl continued as the gunman raised his weapon in the air before stamping on a man on the floor next to the bar.

Another person, who was brought to his knees, can be seen clutching at the wall as he tried to get to his feet and escape the club.

A witness, who filmed the footage and did not wish to be named, said: ‘I was with the DJ on the night, I don’t understand how the fight began but a lot of people broke into a fight, bottles were being used at some point there was a gun shown but not used.

‘This was a Jamaican party I attended. I was shocked, I couldn’t believe how a weapon can enter a club.

‘Ordinary people had to pull and separate each other, people were hiding behind the bar and ducking because they felt someone was going to shoot.’

After the footage ended, the trouble then went outside the venue where a 26-year-old man was slashed across the face with a weapon.

He was taken to hospital for the slash wounds to his face after the disorder at the popular nightspot.

Officers were called to the Bristol Street venue at around 6am on Sunday after a fight broke out at Prisma and then escalated onto the street.

Police couldn’t confirm if the wounds had been caused by a knife or another weapon.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: ‘It is believed a fight broke out at the club on Bristol Street at around 6am and a 26-year-old man received slash wounds to his face.

‘He was taken to hospital and later discharged.

‘Investigations remain on-going and anyone with information is urged to call police on 101.’
