A who’s who of former MasterChef Australia stars are slated to reunite for a special television event.
Channel 10 has announced a Deal or No Deal Celebrity Jackpot Special on Tuesday September 17 will feature 25 former stars of the cooking show.
Current judges Andy Allen and Sofia Levin will be going up against The Banker to win money for their chosen charity, MND.
The special episode of the game show hosted by Grant Denyer will see contestants return from MasterChef’s 16 seasons, including past winners Sashi Cheliah, Emelia Jackson, Justin Narayan and Brent Draper.
Also confirmed are beloved contestants Alvin Quah, Dani Venn and Cath Collins as well as Lourdes Leschen, Khristian Walker and Snezana Calic from the 2024 hit season of the cooking contest.
On Wednesday, fan favourite Reece Hignell spoke to Yahoo Lifestyle about the time he had on the Deal or No Deal special.
‘It was an incredible experience meeting the new contestants and reconnecting with some close friends,’ said the MasterChef alumnus.
‘Holding the cases was absolutely wild as this is a show I have been watching since I was a child,’ he added.

Meanwhile, fellow fan favourite Alvin Quah said that he jumped at the chance to appear on the special.
‘When asked to participate in the Celebrity Edition where I get to hang out with past contestants of MasterChef, the answer was a no-brainer – DEAL!’ the two-time MasterChef contestant gushed.
It comes as an awkward dating encounter unfolded on another Celebrity Jackpot Special of Deal or No Deal recently.

West Australian Blake Heath was competing on the game show when he was reunited with a woman who ghosted him on Tinder.
Host Grant Denyer pressed the female contestant about an ‘interaction with one of our comedic guests’.
She sheepishly confirmed the short-lived relationship with, telling Grant ‘He’s got two names, Blake or Brett or Brett and Blake.’
‘This can’t be good,’ Brett replied, before Grant asked the contestant to elaborate on the dalliance.
‘We matched on a dating app, we were about to go on a date but I stopped replying or ghosted as they would [say],’ she explained.
When Grant asked why she ghosted him, the woman admitted she was less than impressed with the comedian’s living situation.
‘He was in between houses.. .yeah you were homeless for quite some time and he was bouncing between a couch and a shed,’ she said.
