MasterChef’s Melissa Leong looks downcast as she arrives in Sydney carrying a $2700 tote after the death of her co-star Jock Zonfrillo

MasterChef judge Melissa Leong recently shared her devastation following the death of her beloved co-star Jock Zonfrillo.

And on Thursday, the culinary expert, 41, looked downcast as she arrived at Sydney Airport and made her way through the arrivals lounge.

The raven haired beauty rocked a smart casual look in an oversized brown blazer and matching pants as she headed to the taxi rank.

She added a touch of style to her look with a $2700 Gucci tote but could not hide her sadness as she took off her sunglasses to better focus on her surroundings.

Melissa wore her black hair parted in the centre and a light layer of make up accentuated her striking facial features.

Her outing comes almost two months after her beloved co-star Jock Zonfrillo died in Melbourne on May 1, aged 46, on what was supposed to be the premiere date of the latest series, which was delayed by a week following his passing.

Back in May, Melissa explained the grieving process is a quiet one for her, after she was criticised for not taking part in a special tribute to late co-star.

The MasterChef Australia star wrote in her column for Stellar Magazine that there is no wrong way to grieve.

‘We all deal with loss differently, and we need to honour that,’ the 41-year-old said.

‘Some people need to talk in order to process emotions, while other take more time to find the words, if they can at all,’ she continued.

‘Some people need to be with people, while others need time alone to stare at a wall, clean incessantly or sleep.

Melissa sparked concerns after she failed to take part in The Sunday Project’s moving tribute to Jock following the MasterChef Australia star’s shock death.

Jock’s fellow judge Andy Allen and renowned chefs Gordon Ramsay, Marco Pierre White and Curtis Stone all shared their memories in the heartbreaking special.

Conspicuously missing was Jock’s co-star Leong, who did not appear in the program.

MasterChef fans posted to Twitter wondering why Melissa was absent, with several speculating that she was too grief-stricken to take part.
