Math teacher, 70, accused of inappropriate relationship with two 16-year-old female students

A Long Island high school teacher has been arrested for allegedly having inappropriate relationships with two 16-year-old girls.

Jairo Inswasty, 70, was arrested at his Islandia home Thursday by Suffolk County Police. 

He was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, police say. 

Inswasty was a math teacher at Central Islip High School when he reportedly engaged in the inappropriate relationships with the teenagers, according to NBC. 

The girls were his students at the time. 

He will be arraigned on a later date. 

An investigation is ongoing and police are asking for those with additional information to come forward.

As of Friday morning he was listed in the staff directory on Central Islip Schools website. 

The school is yet to respond to Dailymail.com’s request for comment.
