Matt Damon is all smiles as he goes incognito at the Ekka for a family day out with wife Luciana and their daughters

Matt Damon has made a surprise appearance at the Ekka in Brisbane, Australia.

The Good Will Hunting star, 52, was seen at the Brisbane Showgrounds alongside his wife Luciana Barroso, 47, and daughters Isabella, 17, Gia, 14 and Stella, 12.

The A-lister, who is visiting good friend Chris Hemsworth Down Under, made an effort to go incognito as he wandered the annual agricultural show of Queensland.

Matt looked every inch the dad on holidays in a classic black t-shirt and dark pants.

He paired the look with a Stone & Wood cap and a pair of stylish shades to hide his famous face.

‘It’s turned into a family tradition so thanks for having us back,’ he added.

‘Shout out to everyone at the Ekka, you guys do a great job.’

Matt is a frequent visitor to Australian shores and spent six months living in the country with his family in 2021, where he filmed a role in the latest Thor installment.

‘I’m so excited that my family and I will be able to call Australia home for the next few months,’ Matt said ahead of the shoot.

‘Australian film crews are world renowned for their professionalism and are a joy to work with so the 14 days of quarantine will be well worth it.’

He added: ‘Australia definitely is the lucky country.’

The US actor’s trips have only fuelled rumours he is looking to relocate Down Under with his family on a full-time basis.

A source told Woman’s Day: ‘Matt loves Australia… Chris enjoys the quiet life away from Hollywood and that just makes it even more appealing.’

It’s not the first time reports have surfaced about Matt’s rumoured plans to move to Byron Bay.

‘Matt’s telling friends and colleagues in Hollywood that he’s moving the family to Australia for a year,’ a ‘top’ source told the publication.

‘Matt’s saying the move will not impact his work – as he will travel to wherever his projects are shooting. He’s also telling friends he wants to have a safe place to raise his kids.’

But despite whispers of a move Down Under, Matt has denied he is leaving the US.

‘Matt has visited Australia several times recently, but he has not bought a house there nor is he moving there,’ his representative said at the time.

Matt is married to Luciana Barroso, 47, and the couple share three daughters – Isabella, Gia and Stella.

The Good Will Hunting star is also the stepfather to Luciana’s daughter from her previous marriage, Alexia.
