Matt Shirvington and his wife Jessica have bought an $11.2million home on Sydney’s upper north shore.

The Olympian-turned-TV presenter and author have purchased the Tudor-style five-bedroom house in Killara, despite still awaiting the sale of the Mosman property they’ve called home for 15 years.

Their new sprawling home includes a kitchen with a butler’s pantry, an office, and billiards room.

With plenty of room for the family-of-five, there’s also a 1595sqm landscaped garden which includes a grass tennis court and heated cool.

Inside, there’s also a gym to keep Shirvo’s athletic side satisfied, as well as a 650-bottle wine cellar for when the couple want to relax.

The home, which is called ‘Yileen’, was built in 1905 and is heritage listed.

It’s the second highest home sold in the suburb this year, behind a 12.5million home on the same road.

‘The home fully embodies the grace and glamour of its era whilst offering the finest contemporary comfort and quality in every detail,’ the listing marketing read, according to realestate.au.

Their home in Mosman, one of Sydney’s most exclusive suburbs, is on the market for $12million – and is expected to reach around $14 million.

The couple are hoping to make tidy profit on the 1300sqm home after buying in 2017 for $4.15 million.

Shirvington is expected to replace David ‘Kochie’ Koch as host of Sunrise when the veteran broadcaster retires at the end of 2024.

The sports presenter, 44, is Channel Seven’s top choice to succeed Koch, 66, who is planning his retirement after signing a contract extension last month.

Shirvington filled in as co-anchor earlier this year when Koch was on leave, and network executives were said to be impressed by his natural presenting abilities.

Shirvington already co-hosts Sunrise on Fridays, with The Australian’s Media Diary reporting senior management is looking to make the role permanent.

Koch’s departure will be a gradual one as he reduces the number of his days on air over the next two years until his contract expires.

This is so viewers don’t get ‘spooked’ by his immediate departure.
