With cinemas opening across the world once more, it is slated for an October 29 release.
Anya-Taylor Joy plays a seemingly-creepy showgirl from 1960s London, whom a modern-day fashion student aspires to be.
A young fashionista – played by Thomasin McKenzie – begins to connect with Anya’s hedonistic ‘ghost’, channeling her into her work as a designer.
But the trailer – which sees a sequence of events unfold to an eerie rendition of Petula Clark’s Downtown – takes a twisted turn, as the two women’s lives appear to somehow collide, with McKenzie seemingly haunted in troubling – and violent – ways.
Things are left ambiguous, but the trailer ends with the only words spoken during it: ‘Do you believe in ghosts?’
Matt Smith, Rita Tushingham, and Terrence Stamp also star, as does Diana Rigg, who made the movie prior to passing away in autumn 2020. This was the last project she worked on prior to her death.
The official synopsis for Last Night In Soho reads: ‘Edgar Wright’s psychological thriller about a young girl, passionate in fashion design, who is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters her idol, a dazzling wannabe singer.
‘But 1960s London is not what it appears, and time seems to fall apart with shady consequences…’

Edgar Wright is renowned for his 2017 film Baby Driver which became his top-grossing film to date.
It made $107 million in the US and $226 million worldwide.
Of the delays in release, Wright told IndieWire earlier this year: ‘Me and the producers were behind the push, and Universal and Focus were in agreement.
‘They feel as well that we want to at least give it the chance to be in theaters and see it as it was intended to be. Obviously people will be able to watch it at home eventually.
I saw a headline that said, “Soho Delayed For Second Time To October,” but the more positive spin is “Soho To Be In Theaters!” That’s how I see it.
‘I’d happily wait if there’s a chance to see it on the big screen because that’s how it was made to be seen.
‘I, along with the rest of the planet, hope for the vaccine to gather momentum.’

They join Eve Best as Rhaenys Velaryon, Fabien Frankel as Ser Criston Cole, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, Sonoya Mizuno as Mysaria and Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon.

The Dance of the Dragons saw Rhaenyra and her half-brother Aegon II fight over their father Viserys I’s throne in a war that lasted three years, and led to untold death and misfortune to the Targaryen line.
Casting began last year, and the prequel is due to be released in spring 2022.
