Kelly Stafford has claimed that fans of the Detroit Lions went too far when she heard boos aimed at her four children during Sunday night’s AFC wild round game.

Kelly, who shares daughters, Tyler, 3, Hunter, 5, and six-year-old twins Sawyer and Chandler with Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford – posted a message on her Instagram Story about the pre-game jeers after someone commented, ‘f Detroit,’ under a photo of the family hugging on the sidelines at Ford Field.

‘Enough with the Detroit love, they showed their true colors f them,’ the person wrote, seemingly referring to the heckling that Stafford received when he ran out onto the field before the 24-23 loss for L.A.

Kelly and Stafford’s return to Detroit provided the couple with a sense of nostalgia, as their four daughters were born there during the quarterback’s 12-year tenure with the Lions – before he was traded to the Rams for then-Los Angeles quarterback Jared Goff, two first-round picks and a third-round selection in January 2021.

It was also Stafford’s first time back in Detroit since he moved away, three years ago.

Kelly Stafford said ‘everything is fair game’ until Lions fans started booing her four children

‘It’s sports,’ Kelly wrote in response to the fan’s comment. ‘The city wants to win. Everything is fair game…

‘Except the fans who booed my children… other than that, I loved the atmosphere and the booing just gave my husband more fire.

‘The more you love, the more you hate. I consider it all love going both ways. And now that we are out.. I hope the Lions bring home a Lombardi to that city because the feeling is no other. Go get it.’

Stafford, who holds almost every franchise passing record in Detroit, played most of Sunday night’s game with a bandaged and bloody hand after cutting himself the first half.

The 35-year-old, signal-caller ended the Rams’ only playoff game of the season with  367 yards passing and two touchdowns. Record-breaking rookie Puka Nacua had nine receptions for 181 yards and a TD.

Matthew and Stafford had their four kids dressed up in adorable ‘Born in Detroit, Raised in L.A.’ jackets for this weekend’s playoff game.

The Lions and the Rams are scheduled to play in Detroit again during the 2024 regular season.
