Matty J is trying to gain 6kgs to look more buff

He’s the former Bachelor Australia star known for making girls swoon for his buff physique. 

And on Sunday, Matty J’s personal trainer Jono Castano-Acero revealed the star is trying to put on weight. 

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, the 26-year-old said Matty ‘wants to look a bit bigger’ with an extra six kilos his goal.

‘He’s focusing right now on putting on a bit more weight,’ he said. 

‘He wants to look a little bit bigger. He wants to put on another six kilos. Right now he’s at 84kg, he wants to get to 90.’ 

And adding that Matty is the ‘type of person who just touches something and sticks to it’, Jono gushed that the extra pounds ‘will make Matty look amazing’.

‘I have to tell the truth. 90kg on someone like Matty would look amazing,’ he confessed. 

But the progress won’t come easy for the star, with Jono revealing he’s had to completely alter his nutrition plan.

‘Right now we’ve got him starting at 10am and does an eight hour fasting to 6pm.’

‘He eats lots of veges including asparagus, brown rice, quinoa,’ said Jono. 

‘He’s got his protein in there which is either chicken, turkey or kangaroo and also your good fats like avocados.
