There were always going to be tears, and on Thursday night, it was Elise Stacy, 29, who was brutally rejected by Matty ‘J’ Johnson on The Bachelor final.
But less than a year ago, it was the 30-year-old hunk who experienced the same heartbreak when he was turned away by Georgia Love.
The Sydney marketing manager was visibly rocked and leaned over in agony, as he struggled to come to terms with his rejection under the Singapore moonlight.

His hands rested on his knees as he tried his best to keep his composure and look Georgia in the eye.
‘I guess it’s… ..it’s, you know… ..I’m absolutely devastated,’ he eventually said nervously.
‘I wanted to meet someone here who I thought I could spend the rest of my life with and I have. But… ..Yeah, it just… ..it sucks you don’t feel the same way.’
On Thursday night, it was Matty J’s turn to do the heartbreaking – eventually confessing his love to accessories designer Laura Byrne.
But first, it was his job to break the news to former Hockeyroos star Elise, who arguably took the rejection better than he did the year before.

Elise put on a brave face as she fought back tears at The Santhiya Koh Yao Yai Resort & Spa in Thailand.
Wearing a cleavage-baring fitted gold frock, complete with a thigh-high slit, the stunning blonde wished him well before making a graceful exit.
‘That’s OK. Thanks for being honest. Thank you… ..for the journey,’ she said.
‘I… ..am glad that I met you, and… ..am happy that you’ve found what you’re looking for. And I wish you all the best in that.’
It wasn’t until she made her way into a waiting limousine that she broke down in tears.
