Mauricio Pochettino FUMES at Chelsea duo for trying to take penalty off Cole Palmer and warns they will be ‘out’ if they do it again as embarrassing on-field row overshadows 6-0 thrashing of Everton

Mauricio Pochettino has revealed he reprimanded his team for their penalty bust-up following their 6-0 win against Everton.

The Blues had raced into a 4-0 lead before half-time at Stamford Bridge, and had the perfect to extend their advantage when Cole Palmer was brought down inside the box after the restart.

Palmer had already netted a hat-trick was prepared to spot kick when the situation devolved on the pitch with Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson before appearing to claim they should take the penalty.

Despite his side extending their unbeaten run in the Premier League to eight games on Monday, Pochettino revealed he had a stern conversation regarding the incident with his players after they returned to the dressing room.

‘It is a shame, the former Spurs boss said. ‘I was telling the players before, we had a meeting with all the staff and we were talking.

‘We cannot behave in this way. I told them this is the last time I accept this type of behavior. Involved, all out. This is not a joke. It is impossible after a performance like this.

‘It shows we are in a process where we will learn a lot, we need to change and see more in the collective way than to think of individual achievement.

‘I have made it clear to them and through you to the fans that Cole Palmer is the taker, if he wants to give it to another he can but not in this way, it is a sad situation that happened and cannot happen again.’
