Pochettino said he hoped to play the quarter-final tie in the new stadium at White Hart Lane although the timescale for the grand opening remains complicated and uncertain.

‘Yes, I expect to play in the new stadium,’ said the Spurs boss.

‘We were talking with Jesus saying it will be amazing to be in the new stadium listening to that song before the game. Now we are in the quarter-final I hope we can finish and we can listen to the song there.’

Pochettino also let slip that he expects his celebrations to be curtailed by news of a touchline ban from the FA for his confrontation with referee Mike Dean after a defeat at Burnley.
