Forward Max Domi decided to follow in the footsteps of his father, Tie Domi, and signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday.
Max inked a deal worth $3million and lasting for just one year on a day that kept Toronto busy.
The Leafs will be Domi’s seventh team in 2023-24, his ninth season in the league. Domi split time between Chicago and Dallas last season, posting 56 points (20 goals, 36 assists) and 82 penalty minutes in 80 games overall.
The Blackhawks traded Domi to the Stars on March 2.
Domi, 28, has tallied 370 points (121 goals, 249 assists) in 581 games. He debuted with Arizona in 2015 after being selected No. 12 overall by the Coyotes in 2013.

Max is no stranger to the city of Toronto, where his father Tie played over 777 games
Toronto will be the seventh team Max has joined in his career, which has spanned 581 games
His father, Tie Domi, played parts of 12 seasons as an enforcer with the Maple Leafs and is the franchise’s all-time leader with 2,265 penalty minutes.
Toronto has already acquired a significant number of players since the NHL’s trade deadline opened up on Saturday.
They’ve penned deals with the likes of Ryan Reaves, Tyler Bertuzzi, and John Klingberg while also re-signing David Kampf the week prior.
Bertuzzi in particular is a coup, convincing the former Detroit Red Wings and Boston Bruins forward to join a rival team.
