Maxima of the Netherlands looks stylish as she and King Willem-Alexander arrive in Austria

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands caught everyone’s eyes in an all-red ensemble as she arrived in Vienna ahead of a three-day visit.

The Dutch Monarch, 51, who was accompanying her husband King Willem-Alexander, 55, donned a crimson get up from head to toe, complete with a red sunhat.

She donned the stylish look to review the honor guard while visiting Hofburg Palace this morning.

The visit, which will last until Wednesday, aims to strengthen the bond between the two nations.

The mother-of-three made a noted appearance in Vienna as she stepped out of her car in the crimson ensemble.

Her straight red dress came with a built-in cape that covered her bust and cascaded down her back.

She paired it with a matching leather clutch bag and a pair of ruby gloves. She also completed the look with her accessory of choice: a sunhat that matched the red hue of her dress.

Known for her attention to detail and her love for colour-matching outfits, Maxima was also wearing a pair of bright red stilettos at the Palace this morning.

The Dutch Queen added some bling to the red outfit with an impressive pair of drop pearl earrings and a brooch pinned to the front of her dress.

She paired it with a large pearl bracelet on her right hand and her watch on her left.

Her blonde locks were styled into a sleek bun tucked under her hat, with just two strange of honeycomb hair framing the side of her face.

The mother-of-three sported a natural summery makeup, with a dash of bronzer adding definition to her sun-kissed glow, a nude lip and a sculpted brow.

Meanwhile her husband looked smart in a navy blue suit he paired with a red and white tie.

The couple were welcomed to Vienna by Austria’s President Alexander van der Bellen and his wife Doris Schmidauer, who opted to wear a breezy white dress for the occasion.

Later this morning they will lay a wreath for the victims of the second Word War at the Namenmonument in Ostarrichi Park.

Maxim and Willem-Alexander will then be given a tour of the memorial commemorating the victims of the Holocaust.

This afternoon, they will meet with the Mayor of Vienna, Michael Ludwig, as well as the Deputy Speaker of the Austrian Parliament, Doris Bures.

Their action-packed day will end with a state banquet at the Belvedere Palace hosted by President Can der Bellen in Maxima and Willem-Alexander’s honour.

The parents-of-three have enjoyed a Spring filled with numerous engagements.

They have been so busy that they even have had to take their traditional summer family photo a month early to match their demanding schedules with their daughters’ equally busy social lives.

The royal family released their portraits over the weekend, showing the two monarchs with their three daughters Catharina-Amalia, 18, Alexia, 16, and Ariane, 15.

Their photoshoot usually takes place in July before the family departs for their summer holiday, but the palace said that there’s been a change of plan.

From now on, the photo sessions no longer exclusively take place just before the royal famil goes on holiday, but at times when the whole family can be present.

Big changes are afoot in the family this coming Autumn with Princess Amalia set to go to unviersity.

Earlier this month the Dutch heiress-to-the-throne announced she has enrolled for a degree at Amsterdam university – and will live with normal students in a houseshare.

She will be studying for a £3,750 degree in Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics at University of Amsterdam from September.

During her studies, the Princess will be living in a rented houseshare with her fellow students.

A post on the royal court’s Instagram account stated that her time at university is considered ‘private.’
