Nearly three months after Season 4 of Stranger Things wrapped up with two super-sized feature-length episodes, one of the show’s stars is weighing in on a big death.
Maya Hawke was joined by her Do Revenge co-star Camila Mendes in a Vanity Fair interview where they both ask each other questions while hooked up to a lie detector.
The 24-year-old daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman was asked about the death of new fan favorite character Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn.

Mendes asked, ‘Do you think Eddie should have died?’ as Hawke took a moment to craft her answer.
‘I don’t think he should have died… but I do think the show has too many characters,’ Hawke said, when something dawned on Mendes.
‘Are there spoilers in this?’ Mendes asked as Hawke said the show had, ‘been out for awhile,’ but Mendes hadn’t seen ‘Part 2’ yet, which is comprised of the two feature-length episodes that debuted on July 1.

Too many: ‘I don’t think he should have died… but I do think the show has too many characters,’ Hawke said, when something dawned on Mendes
‘Oh sorry. Spoiler for you, yeah. Eddie’s dead,’ Maya said with a laugh, as Mendes asked, ‘What is wrong with you people?’
‘This is cruel. I love Eddie,’ Mendes added, as Hawke said, ‘I know, it’s sad,’ while Mendes added, ‘He didn’t deserve to go.’
Mendes moved on and asked if there is anyone else she thought should have died in Season 4.
Wrong: ‘Oh sorry. Spoiler for you, yeah. Eddie’s dead,’ Maya said with a laugh, as Mendes asked, ‘What is wrong with you people?’
‘Yes, I think more people should have died,’ but when Mendes asked who she thought should have died, Hawke reminded her they were supposed to be, ‘Yes or no questions.’
Joseph Quinn’s Eddie Munson was introduced in Season 4, with the first part of the season debuting in late May.
Eddie was the leader of the Hellfire Club at Hawkins High and a guitar player in the band Corroded Coffin, though many in town thought of him as a Satanist.

Eddie was also a close friend of Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo), and the guitarist ultimately sacrificed himself, taking on a hoard of Demobats by himself.
When Dustin returned, he thought he’d be able to get him to a hospital after leaving the Upside Down, though he ultimately died in the Upside Down.
Netflix has already renewed Stranger Things for a fifth and final season, though there’s no indication when it will air.
