And Maz Compton has now claimed the medium of radio is in desperate need of young talent in the wake of its waning popularity.
‘Somehow there has to be a radio academy’, she told Mumbrella this week.

‘Where is the talent academy that seeks out really talented, passionate, empowered, young people and gives them the microphone to go and do good stuff?’ she asked.
‘For the next turn of radio that would be my hope that there are some young people out there that can just get in there and rectify the medium’, Maz concluded.
It was late 2015 when Maz and her former radio co-host Dan Debuf were replaced by Rove McManus and Sam Frost.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia about her shock demotion, Maz said: ‘Of course I was disappointed but it wasn’t my decision.’
‘It had nothing to do with how awesome our radio show is and was about the direction the company is going in and I can’t take that personally,’ she said.
It didn’t take long before Rove & Sam suffered a massive decline in ratings, prompting 2DayFM to cancel their show in 2017.

In January, Maz took a swipe at former Bachelorette star Sam on the It’s All Connected podcast.
‘Is the growing trend giving reality TV stars radio jobs? Because I’ve noticed that trend,’ Maz said.
The rather biting comment was followed with awkward laughter from podcast host Marty Smiley, who suggested that the issue would be better discussed at another time.
