A suspect has surrendered in a McDonald’s break-in in which a woman was caught on camera squeezing her way through a drive-thru window.
Jessica Marie Cross of Springdale, Maryland, 27, turned herself in to officers Thursday in Maryland’s Howard County.
She has been charged with burglary and theft.
The incident took place around 1am on November 5.
Surveillance video of the burglary shows a woman worming into a McDonald’s in Columbia, Maryland, through the restaurant’s unlocked window.
At first, she leaned in far enough to pour herself a drink from the soda machine, keeping the bottom half of her body planted on the street.
When the strain became too much, she climbed through the window to gain full access to the unattended station.
The woman then spent more than 20 minutes pillaging the restaurant’s kitchen and contents.
She helped herself to soda, stretching over the window to reach the stash of paper cups
With no one around, the woman then climbed into the kitchen three minutes later
She was filmed handing a box of stolen goods back to a person on the street who was not pictured.
It is not clear how she exited the restaurant or if it was open for business at the time. At no point in the surveillance footage was any member of staff seen.
The woman was dressed in grey sweatpants and a black top. At one stage, she attempted to conceal her face with her top by lifting it over the back of her head.
Police said she stole $1,400 in cash, a purse, food and Happy Meal toys.
Investigators said Cross is seen on video attempting to remove her fingerprints and disable the surveillance system.
McDonald’s has not commented on the theft.
Once inside, she was filmed retrieving the drink she had set up from outside
Realizing no one was around, she then spent more than 20 minutes inside pillaging the restaurant’s contents. She used a box
The theft took place at this McDonald’s on Benson Road in Columbia, Maryland, on Nov 5
