McDonald’s is giving out FREE chips on Friday to customers who order via its app

McDonald’s will be giving out free chips on Friday in a special one-off giveaway.

Medium portions of the chain’s famous fries will be completely free for those who order via the McDonald’s app.     

Customers will be able to claim one pack each, and don’t need to buy anything else to qualify for the deal.  

Both new and existing users of the app will be able to claim the goods, with the offer available in most stores across the UK – with the exceptions listed on the company website.

Diners will have to be aged 16 or over to get their hands on the offer.

The special deal comes as the fast food chain introduced its Christmas menu today. 

The much-missed Big Tasty – which features a beef burger, Emmental cheese, tomato, lettuce, onion and its namesake sauce – is back after a year-long absence.

Also arriving back on the festive scene is the Matchmakers Cool Mint McFlurry; the fan favourite hasn’t been seen in the fast food chain’s restaurants since 2013.

Prices for the limited edition menu start at 99p to £6.59 for a meal, and it will be available in eateries across the UK from tomorrow.

The Christmas line-up features a new burger – the Chicken Deluxe – for those that want to try something a little different to their festive turkey this year. 

It contains two pieces of crispy chicken with a zesty tomato relish, cool mayo, cheese, lettuce and red onion rings in a square glazed and sesame seed topped bun.

The Chicken Deluxe will set customers back £5.19, or £6.59 for a medium meal.
