To make the pies for yourself at home, you’ll need to get your hands on eight apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, eggs and puff pastry (process pictured)
To make the pies for yourself, you’ll need to get your hands on eight apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, eggs and puff pastry.
‘Peel and cube your apples and put them in a pot with 30mL of water,’ Megan said.
Then, add a teaspoon of cinnamon, half a teaspoon of nutmeg and eight tablespoons of brown sugar to your mix.
Once this is done, simply mix everything together until ‘all of the apples are covered in the seasoning’, and then cook it on a medium heat for 25 minutes.
‘Keep cooking the mixture until the apples cook and the liquid thickens,’ Megan said.
‘This is how it should look,’ she added, showcasing a thick, warmed apple mixture at the end.
You will need to coat the parcels in an egg wash mix consisting of one egg and a splash of milk (pictured)
Megan recommends adding one tablespoon of the apple mixture to each parcel before baking in the oven for 16 minutes until they are ‘golden brown’ (process pictured)
Next, remove the apples from the heat and let the mixture cool while you make your egg wash mix, made from one egg and a bit of milk ‘mixed together’.
‘Using puff pastry, cut it into quarters and add a tablespoon of the filling,’ Megan said.
Then, seal off the pies with egg wash slathered over the corners of the pies and use a fork to fold them down at the edges.
‘It’s optional, but I like to score the top,’ Megan said. ‘Finally, add egg wash to the whole parcel.’
Once this is done, all you need to do is bake the parcels in the oven for 16 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius, or until they are ‘golden brown’.
‘Trust me, they are so f**king good, yum!’ she concluded.

More than 500,000 people who saw the simple recipe on TikTok were impressed and said they couldn’t wait to try it.
‘Adding this to my favourites so I can make them this weekend,’ one commenter posted.
‘My mouth is watering, I’ll make them tomorrow,’ another added.
Others said the only way to get them truly like McDonald’s is to deep fry the pies or cook them in the Kmart pie maker.
