McDonald’s is bringing back 15 of its most-loved toys in a limited-edition Surprise Happy Meal to celebrate the fast food giant’s 40th anniversary. 

The 15 special items will include toys that were released in Happy Meals over the past four decades, but will only be on offer for six days.

They include iconic characters like Hamburglar and Grimace from the 1990s, and Cowboy McNugget from 1988.

Between Thursday November 21 and Wednesday November 27, customers of all ages will be able to join in on the fun and get the toys while stocks last.

The limited edition range is being released in 90 countries with Australia’s turn coming on Thursday.

McDonald’s Global CEO Steve Easterbrook said the Happy Meal quickly became synonymous with the McDonald’s brand.

‘Today, this iconic red box creates delicious, lasting memories for billions of families annually across the world,’ he said.

Director of Marketing for McDonald’s Australia Jo Feeney said: ‘Happy Meal toys are nostalgic for Aussies of all ages.’

‘By bringing back some of the most popular toys from the last four decades, Australians can get their hands on some of their favourites from the past, starting Thursday 21st November’.
