Those infected used trains between Armadale and Southern Cross Station or Collins Street in Melbourne, and visited Chadstone Shopping Centre, Ikea Richmond and Federation University.

‘People who attended these locations between September 6 and September 13 may be at risk of developing measles,’ Dr Sutton said.

The two people who are infected may have contracted measles at the same locations or at St Kilda Rd in Armadale, or St Kilda Library.

One of the infections was confirmed to be contracted in the area, while the other may have been from overseas.

Dr Sutton warned symptoms may not appear until October 4.
