The infamous Brazilian Miss Bumbum contest that aims to find the best derrière in the country is getting more diverse in its final year with its first transgender contestant.
Transgender beauty Paula Oliveira, 27, will be one of 26 women vying for the title of Brazil’s best bum in the competition, which started in 2011 and quickly gained international recognition.
Paula is already showing off her hourglass figure ahead of the competition in a racy lingerie shoot that is almost entirely dedicated to her backside.

In one of the photos, Paula is modeling a thong leotard while sitting on her knees to show off her booty.
As she looks over her shoulder, she is pulling her long blonde hair up in the air to make sure her buttocks are on full display.
Although the focus of the shoot is undoubtedly on her derrière, Paula also struck some poses while topless.
She has her hands resting on her head in the snapshot, leaving her hair flowing past her exposed breasts as she gazes at the camera.

Before her gender reassignment surgery six years ago, Paula was born male and named Vinicius Oliveira.
According to TMZ, the former Big Brother Brasil star waited two years for her legal paperwork identifying her as a woman named Paula to come through.
Brazil’s public health system started providing free gender reassignment operations in 2007 following a court order. A few years later, it became legal for transgender men and women to change their gender assignments.

Despite the initiatives, Brazil has one of the world’s highest rates of fatal violence against transgender people, making Paula’s debut in the Miss BumBum competition even more important.

Since her appearance in the 2014 Miss BumBum contest, runner-up lookalike Cláudia Alende has amassed more than 10.3 million Instagram followers thanks to her uncanny resemblance to actress Megan Fox.
However, the competition has also been steeped in controversy. In 2014, Miss BumBum contestants Mari Sousa and Eliana Amaral were accused of bribing judges in their attempts to come in first and second place. Indianara Carvalho ended up taking home the title that year.
