Meet the Aussie tradie who’s won the heart of Miley Cyrus’ sister Brandi – as he relocates to Tennessee amid growing romance

There’s a new Aussie shaking things up in the Cyrus family.

Brandi Cyrus, the older sister of pop megastar Miley Cyrus, is quietly dating Queensland-born motorbike enthusiast Matt Southcombe.

The pair have been keeping their romance under wraps, but eagle-eyed fans began speculating after Brandi, 37, recently hinted she was dating ‘an Aussie’.

Now it’s been confirmed that Southcombe, a tattooed tradie from Mount Tamborine, is the mystery man winning her heart.

Matt, who runs custom Harley restoration business Mountain Choppers, appears to have relocated to Tennessee – placing him just a short drive from the Cyrus family estate.

Southcombe has been dropping a trail of clues on social media, recently sharing a series of cosy snaps of the pair horseback riding together on a scenic American ranch.

In one photo, Brandi is seen posing beside Matt in matching cowboy hats and western outfits.

Another shows them dining at a scenic restaurant, beaming as they enjoy a relaxed Christmas together in Matt’s hometown of Tamborine Mountain, Queensland.

Brandi left a heartfelt comment on one of Matt’s festive posts, declaring it the ‘Best Christmas ❤️’.

The relationship marks yet another Australian connection for the famous Cyrus family.

Miley famously married actor Liam Hemsworth before their high-profile divorce, and later dated Olympic swimmer-turned-singer Cody Simpson.

Their father Billy Ray Cyrus wed Aussie songstress Firerose in 2023 – though the couple later split.

Meanwhile, Brandi’s mother Tish Cyrus tied the knot with Prison Break actor and proud Aussie, Dominic Purcell in an intimate Malibu ceremony last August, with Miley, 31, as her maid of honour.

Daughter Noah, 24, and son Braison Cyrus, 29, were notably absent from the nuptials, sparking speculation of a feud at the time.

In February, reports surfaced that Noah was dating Purcell when Tish ‘started pursuing him,’ and she ‘was aware’ he was with her daughter.

‘The turmoil between Noah and Tish goes far beyond [what people think],’ a source told Us Weekly. ‘Noah is very distraught over Tish stealing Dominic from her.’

Another source has since told DailyMail.com that Noah fabricated the story about dating Purcell. 

‘Noah never dated Dominic and they were not together,’ said the insider. ‘She is delusional to think otherwise and is trying to create a narrative that will paint her as a victim.’

Noah announced her engagement to German fashion designer Pinkus in June 2023.
