Meet Thunder From Down Under’s Leo Dicaprio lookalike

Australia’s Thunder from Down Under, a male revue based in Las Vegas, have released what is, perhaps, their raciest calendar yet.

And while the behind-the-scenes footage of the shoot had women the world over falling weak at the knees, one new recruit has captured the attention of thousands for his uncanny likeness to Leonardo DiCaprio.

24-year-old Dean Kenny fell into the group after working on their merchandise stand and jet-setted off to Vegas from his home on the Gold Coast to swap his simple, beach side lifestyle for a fast-paced life of bright lights and seductive dance routines.

Speaking to FEMAIL, Dean revealed how he ended up in the popular group after spending the past four years studying law.

‘I graduated last year and it all happened really fast!’ Dean said.

‘I had some friends who worked for Thunder From Down Under and they asked me if I’d be interested in auditioning for Thunder and moving to the US. It’s a drastic career change from law, but the opportunity to work abroad and travel all over the world was too hard to pass up.

‘I first started selling merchandise at shows for 12 months in Australia, which was a great way to understand how it all worked.

‘An opportunity to take on the role as MC opened up and I grabbed it with both hands. I now tour full time and am so grateful for the opportunity.’

Dean works hard to stay in shape for the racy show, where he serves as host and MC.

‘To stay in shape I need to eat relatively cleanly. I mostly eat chicken/fish with vegetables – although sometimes I enjoy a burger and fries,’ Dean said.

‘I do weights training when we find a gym on the road and fasted morning cardio before breakfast. When we’re on tour, I love to go for a walk outside and a swim in the ocean. Plus, the show and rehearsals – we perform for 2 hours every night.’

Since a picture was posted of Dean on the Thunder From Down Under Facebook page, women have commented on his likeness to the Hollywood heartthrob.

‘Such a baby face – reminds me of a younger Leonardo DiCaprio,’ one woman wrote.

‘He does look like Leonardo, that’s the first thing I thought too,’ another wrote.

Another added: ‘He looks even better than Leo!’

And while women continue to swoon over the Australian lookalike, Dean is yet to be convinced.

'From the Nevada desert to The Neon Graveyard and Excalibur Hotel & Casino, every location was shot in Las Vegas and represents Thunder's journey to becoming the World's #1 Girls Night Out,' they said

‘That’s such a compliment,’ he laughed.

‘Leonardo DiCaprio is an icon! He is one of my favourite actors and the work the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation does to spread awareness and combat climate change is incredible.’

Despite travelling all over America with the group, Dean is keen to return to Australian shores in summer to perform.

‘America is great but it has made me realise how beautiful Australia is! The beaches, the climate, it doesn’t get much better. I can’t wait to come back and perform in Australia with the guys this Summer,’ he said.
