Megan Gale has set the record straight behind her reported ‘feud’ between her and fellow Australian supermodel Jennifer Hawkins.
The 49-year-old model, who was said to have been ‘feuding’ with Jennifer over their roles as ambassadors for rival stores David Jones and Myer, revealed the surprising truth behind the rumoured rivalry.
She explained that it all started when she made a joke about Jennifer that was later taken out of context by the media.
In this week’s issue of Stellar Magazine, the Perth-born star shared that early in her career, she made a light-hearted comment about which of them was ‘better,’ but it was reported as if she were being serious.
‘I love Jen and I respected her enough as a peer to say, “I love what you’re doing”,’ Megan recounted.
‘I asked, “Why is this happening?” and it got turned into “Megan slams Jen”.’
She noted that in 2016, they had the chance to show everyone that there was no animosity between them when they were both cast as judges on the reality TV series Australia’s Next Top Model.
‘We finally had the opportunity to come together, side by side, and show everyone we don’t hate each other,’ she said.
Both Megan and Jennifer have previously addressed the so-called ‘feud’ and insisted that it never actually occurred.

The two stunners put any rumours of this nature to rest, with Gale insisting ‘it never existed,’ as they appeared together on the cover of Marie Claire.
Speculation of a sour feeling between the pair arose as they represented rival stores — David Jones and Myer.
However, as the two glamazons prepared to star alongside each other, they aimed at putting the rumours to rest.
‘It was a fallacy,’ Megan stated.
‘It drew attention to the stores, the brands, so ultimately you understand it, but it was odd because it was based on this feud that never existed.’
Meanwhile Hawkins supported Megan’s statement, saying, ‘We don’t [hate each other]. Get over it’.
Both Megan and Jennifer are among Australia’s most renowned models, boasting long careers representing well-known brands.
